I can even help with you with project management in anticipation of receiving the exhibition. Whatever you need, let’s work it out together.
case study
Project:
Searching, Selecting, and Negotiating for Exhibitions
Client:
Liberty Science Center
scope of work
LEARN about their feature gallery spaces and upcoming vacancies.
Each of my clients complete a simple onboarding so that I can familiarize myself with the physical environments and understand what’s important to my clients when presenting a good feature exhibition.
STREAMLINE the client’s selection process for incoming feature exhibitions.
This involves aligning with certain individual’s on my client’s team so that together we can create a checklist of priorities for the institution while considering its many parts.
SEARCH for and recommend feature exhibitions for each space.
I tap into my network of museums and producers in North America and internationally to compile a good selection of options.
PRESENT my client with ample options.
The feature exhibition report that I present is robust and detailed enough for them to be able to narrow down their selections.
BUILD a business case for the selected exhibitions.
This includes a production budget, income projections, and a bottom line. Beyond finances, there's a lot to consider that is important to the client such as the intended audience, level of interactivity, quality of the experience, the trustworthiness of the exhibition provider, etc. All of this is considered before a selection is made.
NEGOTIATE terms on their behalf.
Once the client has decided on an exhibition, I negotiate the best possible terms for my client.
MANAGE the contract negotiations.
Multiple parties are involved at this point, and there’s lots to consider. I keep a running list of deal breakers for my clients and I know what to look out for. I engage the appropriate parties throughout this process in an effort to streamline the process while ensuring that there are no surprises or misgivings on either side.

what friends say
"I thought your role and involvement was key in getting this contract signed. You knew what each side needed and toed that line very graciously. It was also good for you to have that ‘insider knowledge’ of what aspects of the contract would be deal-breakers – which you were able to communicate with us during negotiations. It was also nice that you summarized key points of phone calls or contract discussions succinctly – essentially inadvertently helping me!"
